Battered Apple Rings

For a delightfully sweet yet nutritious treat, try these battered apple rings. Slice fresh apples into rings, dip them in batter, then gently fry until golden brown and crispy. The batter adds a delicate crunch while keeping the apple's natural flavor and juice.  Enjoy this scrumptious snack knowing it provides fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants. Ingredients

  • 4 apples, cored and cut into rings
  • 3 eggs at room temperature, beaten
  • 2 T. dairy-free butter, melted
  • 4 T. gluten-free flour
  • 1 T. honey, maple syrup, or sugar-free syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 T. dairy-free milk
  • 1-2 T. coconut oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat coconut oil in frying pan.
  2. Stir remaining ingredients together, adding more liquid if needed.
  3. Dip each apple ring into the batter, coating both sides.
  4. Fry about 3 minutes per side or until brown and crispy.
  5. Serve warm.
